Formerly, uri headed the project department at Appleseeds Academy NGO which focuses on reducing social disparities by providing accessibility to information and technology. Appleseeds Academy specializes in the initiation, management and operation of technological programs throughout Israel, combined with socially oriented training adapted to each sector, population and age group. Uri managed projects in collaboration with international companies such as Google, Intel, Microsoft and Cisco.

James Boon

James Boon is an architecture graduate from Bath University and the
founder of startup Elephant Branded. He got the idea for the brand
after working in Africa and Asia where he had been shocked by the lack
of basic school equipment. James decided to make a positive impact in
the world and Elephant Branded was then established.
Elephant Branded is on a mission to help people get rid of poverty. They work with villagers in Cambodia and pay them in advance of sales of the Elephant Branded products they are producing, such as recycled bags, purses, beanies and pencil cases. They pay a fair, competitive wage to local villagers who make the bag out of locally sourced, recycled materials. Not only do local villagers get a fair, reasonable wage but they also have the opportunity to learn valuable skills that allow them to have a sustainable, effective way to get rid of poverty. For each product they sell, a donation is made in the form of a school bag and kit equipped with the necessary tools for learning to a child in Africa or Asia. With only two years, Elephant Branded has become well-known and popular around the world.
James also sit on the Directors Board for UnLtd in Hong Kong, a social investment organization that provides funding and ongoing support to individuals with innovative ideas that tackle economic and social inequality in the community. He has been named one of the Google's 'Zeitgeist Young Minds' in 2012; Elephant Branded also ranked in Top 20 UK Start-ups 2012 as well as being voted the 18th most ethical business in Britain in 2013. They even received praises from Bill Clinton, former US President and Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group. Professor Chan, 58, was Dean of Business
and Management in the Hong Kong University of Science and
Technology (HKUST) before he was appointed Secretary for Financial
Services and the Treasury in July 2007. Prior to joining the HKUST
Business School in 1993, Professor Chan had spent nine years
teaching at Ohio State University in the United States.
Professor Chan received his bachelor's degree in economics from Wesleyan University and his M.B.A. and Ph.D. in finance from the University of Chicago. He specialised in assets pricing, evaluation of trading strategies and market efficiency and has published numerous articles on these topics.
Before joining the Government, Professor Chan held a number of public service positions including Chairman of the Consumer Council, Director of the Hong Kong Futures Exchange, and Member of the Commission on Strategic Development, Commission on Poverty, the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, the Hang Seng Index Advisory Committee, and the Hong Kong Council for Academic Accreditation. Charles Ng was appointed as an Associate Director-General of

In addition, he oversaw three business lines, including the mobile applications and gaming space where more than 80 apps driving over 100 million downloads were deployed and the manufacture on demand business. He led the business teams in the creation of industry-leading forays into the first fully digital movie applications, the first screenings of movies through Facebook, niche SVOD services and the acquisition of Flixster. Mr. Peymani also served as the chief financial and strategy executive for the division and oversaw all financial activities for the group, establishing process controls and capital deployment plans. Previously, he served as the head of content acquisitions for catalog content and led the wholesale efforts at Netflix, where he led the deployment of the full catalog acquisition budget with the core focus of retaining and acquiring members. Germaine is the Portfolio Manager of Incubation Programmes at Impact Hub Singapore. She currently runs 2 incubation programmes, PACT Incubator (funded by DBS) and The Startup Lab (funded by JPMorgan Foundation), and works with early to growth stage social ventures.
In her role as Portfolio Manager, she aims to grow social enterprises into investment-ready companies that can create broad and deep impact. It is her personal dream to bring venture capital to social enterprises in a big way. She wants to see more social enterprises leveraging on technology to scale impact and bring about a better world.
Prior to The Hub Singapore, Germaine worked at Expara, an early-stage venture capital fund. At Expara, she advised startups in different fields including fashion, big data, machine learning, medical device, virtual reality, ecommerce, and more. She is very well-connected to the Thai startup scene and was part the set up of a local accelerator programme in Thailand. Germaine also headed the CzechAccelerator Programme in Singapore, mentoring startups from the Czech Republic who are interested to expand to Asia. Altogether, the startups that she has advised have raised a total of about S$4 million funding in the last 2 years.
As someone who is very interested in social entrepreneurship and impact investment, she wrote her thesis on impact investment when the scene in Singapore was still very nascent - interviewing many regional and global thought leaders in the field. She has actively worked with different organizations and facilitated social business plan challenges and social impact measurement workshops.

As director of the Business Development & Developer Experience (DX) in Microsoft Hong Kong, Joelle is responsible for driving business transformation in a mobile-first, cloud-first world, leading the startups engagement and building apps and business cases on cloud and mobile platform. In addition, Joelle is leading the team on developer experience including technology evangelism to support local IT professional and developers and driving business partnership and dedicated support for local independent software developers.
Prior to her current role, Joelle was the director of Marketing and Operations, responsible for leading business operations, marketing strategy and overall business performance of the software business groups. Joelle also led the Developer and Platform Group as a director, where she was responsible for developing platform strategy and evangelizing the benefits and business value of the Microsoft platform. During her time in Microsoft’s Server Platform unit, Joelle was the business group lead and managed the business and marketing initiatives for all Microsoft Server products. She was also in charge of Enterprise Marketing for Microsoft Hong Kong.
Joelle joined Microsoft Hong Kong in 1999 as Partner Account Manager, focusing on the development of channel programs for the large account resellers. She was subsequently moved to be the product marketing manager for Windows Server System, responsible for planning and managing the overall product marketing and communication initiatives.
Before joining Microsoft Hong Kong, Joelle worked in the marketing department for two IT companies in Hong Kong, namely Tech Pacific and JOS Computer.

Ada Wong has led a varied career as solicitor, educator and social
entrepreneur. She is a staunch advocate of social innovation,
creative education and cultural development.
Ada founded the Hong Kong Institute of Contemporary Culture (HKICC), a unique non-profit organization whose mission is education innovation and a creative civil society. Among other projects, HKICC founded Hong Kong’s only art high school, the HKICC Lee Shau Kee School of Creativity and Ada is the School’s supervisor.
In 2010, she also founded the Make A Difference (MaD) initiative (www.mad.asia), a continuing platform to groom the next generation of creative and innovative changemakers in Asia. Ada’s latest social venture is The Good Lab (www.goodlab.hk), an inspiring co-working space and social innovation hub for social entrepreneurship development in Hong Kong.
Ada was an elected member of the Urban Council and Wan Chai District Council between 1995 and 2008 with the last four years as Chairperson of the Wan Chai District Council. Ada received her BA (Hons) from Pomona College, California, USA and M Ed from the University of Hong Kong. She is an Honorary Fellow of Lingnan University and Hong Kong Institute of Education.

CHRISTOPHER YEUNG
Founder, Carshare (HK) Limited
A believer of the sharing economy
As a believer of the sharing economy, he started Carshare.hk to reduce the number of cars and congestion in Hong Kong by enabling people to utilise private cars in a more efficient way. Car sharing as a concept has a positive ripple effect on society as a whole. It builds trust in the community. His expertise lies in product development, design and team-building. During the course of running Carshare, he led the company in winning multiple awards including the CASE conference award and HK PolyU Microfund award. He successfully led the company to close its angel investment fund of around HK$3 million. Carhshare has already reached out to some China funds.
Christopher obtained his master degree from Electrical and Electronic Engineering with Management from Imperial College in 2011. Before starting Carshare, he worked briefly in the financial industry doing FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities) trading in Bank of America Merrill Lynch and interned at a Venture Capital in Hong Kong.

Ada's last engagement was the Program Director at SOW Asia. She
designed and led the i2i (incubation to investment) program, one of
the few accelerators for social ventures in Hong Kong. In 2014, i2i
incubated 10 startups, all of which have clear social missions and
have scalable business models. Ada is focused in supporting the
entrepreneurship development in Hong Kong and Greater China. Ada is
on the board of Hong Kong Institute of Social Impact Analysts,
Education For Good (CIC) Limited and Sowers Exchange Foundation. Ada
is also a member of the Advisory Committee at the Enhancing
Self-Reliance Through District Partnership Programme under the Home
Affairs Department of the Hong Kong Government, a mentor under the
Mentoring Program for Women Leaders at The Women’s Foundation and the
Hong Kong University Alumni Entrepreneur Club. Prior to joining the
impact investing industry, Ada worked at Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong

Raymond Yip, Co-founder & CEO of Shopline, has managed product design
and engineering efforts over an extensive career in corporate
technology in New York City and Hong Kong. He has also launched a
multitude of consumer-facing products. In the early days of the
Facebook platform, he launched a niche market gifting app that drove
500K hits daily, generated significant advertising revenue. In 2011,
he founded the first mobile social network for sneaker enthusiasts and
was accepted into the Complex Media Network. He also launched a
product to allow blog owners to monetise the comments section of their
blogs, serving millions of ads for blog owners. Raymond and his
co-founders launched Shopline to provide merchants in Asia a localised
solution to create their own e-commerce website. Shopline is the
second startup from HK that was ever accepted into the 500 Startups
Accelerator program in Silicon Valley. Having successfully raised a
fund of US$1.2 million, Shopline was also the winner of "My Favourite
Cloud Product" at the World Internet Developer Summit and a top 50
startup in Asia at e27 Echelon Conference in 2014. Raymond is a UI/UX
designer that was on the winning team at the April 2013 edition of
Startup Weekend Hong Kong for Best User Experience.
